2024 Christmas Ornament – The Lamplighter
2024 Mort Künstler Collectible Ornament
The Lamplighter
We proudly introduce the Timber Ridge School 28th edition Mort Künstler Collectible Ornament for 2024 titled The Lamplighter.
About the Painting
The Lamplighter is a personal favorite of Mort Künstler and his family, as it features his son, David, as the lamplighter.
After the Revolutionary War and following War of 1812, independence from England had finally been established. The United States would no longer have to fight for independence from foreign domination. Americans could determine their own destiny. By 1830, life in small towns was peaceful and quiet. For many, the new century presented new lights of hope for freedom, economic growth, and prosperity.
The Lamplighter depicts a moment in time in a typical small New England town, yet it could have taken place most anywhere during that time.

Mr. Künstler has been a very generous supporter of the School since 1996 by donating the use of a piece of his artwork for our historic ornament program. His tremendous support of our program was recognized in March of 2003 with the dedication of the Mort Künstler Residence Hall. We can’t thank him enough for his partnership to the students and families we serve.
