HAND-MADE LITHOGRAPH
These prints were created by the artist and master printer by hand, not by machine. The result is a print that is closer to an original work of art - it has a painterly quality, not like a photographic reproduction of the original painting. Many art collectors prefer this type of print for these reasons.
These lithographs are being offered by us for the first time. They are extremely hard to find as there was such a small quantity in the edition.

Signed Artist's Proof • Edition Size: 60
This is a 10 color lithograph. The artist created the 10 plates for the edition by drawing directly onto textured mylar surfaces with a variety of substances including ink, lithographic pencils and liquid tusche. These completed hand-drawn mylars were then chemically transferred onto emulsion-coated aluminum lithographic plates at The American Atelier in New York City. From these plates proofs were pulled, corrected and approved by the artist.
The entire edition was then pulled under the supervision of master printer Mauro Guiffreda at The American Atelier in New York City.
Each print in the edition was hand signed in pencil by the artist at The American Atelier in New York City, February 1977.

After the trails from the cattle country lengthened to Wyoming and Montana, the cowboys learned to prepare for snow, early and late.
